When filming for our music video i needed to ensure that we stuck to health and safety as i needed to make sure that nobody got hurt whislt we were filming
- Making sure that everyone stayed safe
- If we were to use the tripod we needed to ensure that where we had set it up was away from everyone and wasnt an obstruction to anyone.
- As we were going to be travelling on the underground we made sure that the filming equipment was in a bag so that it didn't get damaged and was safe.
- Another reason we stuck to health and safety was by sticking together when we were travelling to London as we were travelling in busy times as it was during half term so we had to make sure that we were always together.

Costumes for band, actor and actress
This is my outfit that I wore for the girl in the music video. As it was late October I decided that i would wear a red rain jacket so that if the weather was to change I would be prepared and if we were to film in the rain I would look like I was dressed right for the weather.
This is the clothes that Ricky wore as the actor in our music video. We were similarly dresses as we both had jeans on and Ricky was also wearing a coat just incase the weather was to change then if we were to carry on filming it would still look we were dressed for the weather.
This is the clothing Maxwell wore for the band scenes. We wanted the band smartly dressed as this way the band looks sophisticated which is the look that we wanted to go for as we looked at other bands such as Take That.

Day of filming
On the day we intended to film in London I met Maxwell and Ricky in town at half 9 on the first day of half term, I thought it was going to be relatively busy this day but it wasn't as bad as we had all expected. We needed to go in the half term as there wouldn't have been any other time that we would be able to go to London to film. We left this early to ensure that we had a full day filming and this meant we were able to take our time when deciding what locations to use in order for our media video to look the best. The weather stayed dry all morning and afternoon which was beneficial as we had a lot of outdoor scenes to film. However, when we were heading home it had started to rain which was lucky as we had filmed what we needed to that day and our camera had ran out of battery.
As the batteries ran out on the cameras quickly we needed to ensure that we kept turning it off whilst we decided whre we needed to go next. If we hadn't of done this we wouldn't have been able to get the filming we needed done and would've had to return to London Zoo. Luckily, we got done what we needed to on the day that we had scheduled to film.
In the afternoon we went to Regents Park to film the bike scenes. Maxwell had difficulty filming Ricky and I on the bikes as he had to ride a bike himself whilst filming. Some of our clips are quite shakey due to the pavement being bumpy which made having a steady hand difficult for Maxwell. However once we had watched back the clip after he had filmed us riding the bikes, we realised and then went to a different area of the park where the pavements were smoother.
We were unable to take any photos for our ancillary tasks on this day as we wanted 3 members for our band and we didn't have Sam with us the day that we went to London. Another reason we didn't film on this day is because we wanted it to look like it was being filmed at a concert so the best place to do this would be the school hall where we could take photos at different angles and had an unlimited amount of time to do this as we could access it when we wanted to.

Bike Hire
These are our receipts from our 'Barclays Cycle Hire'. It was £1.00 to rent these and there was no added charge if you had them for under 30 minutes. We only needed the bikes for a short amount of time so we didnt have to pay an extra fee. These bikes weren't allowed to be rode on pavements which meant that when we took the bikes we had to use the cycle lane which was scary on london roads.
These weren't the bikes that we orginally planned to use as there were meant to be bike hire in Regents Park but we were unable to find this and the member of staff thought we meant the Barclays bikes as well. We then had to walk to Baker Street as this was the closest Barclays Cycle Hire.

London Zoo
These are a ticket and the receipt to show that myself, ricky lawrence and maxwell mbofana went to London Zoo together. I felt that today we got a lot of filming done as we were able to use different areas in the zoo to show that it was a day out between me and ricky who are the couple in our film.
When in the zoo we came across a lot of these guides to help us get around the zoo. As this was our first time to the zoo these were very useful for us to get around easily. On the map it also has a red circle on a certain part of the zoo. This is to show where you are in the zoo to help you to decide where you need to go and what is close to you.
Locations
Regent's Park Map
As the zoo is based in Regents Park we had to use the map as we entered Regents Park so that we were able to head in the right direction to the zoo. It was very useful and we found where we needed to go near enough straight away. We also had to use the map later on when we wanted to find out about the bike and padlow hire. However when we were looking for the bike hire the website it was in a different place to where it actually was so we had to ask a member of staff so that we knew where we were going. There are also numbers on the map so that you can call up the place on the map. We was going to ring up to find if the padlows were available but as we had the bikes we rode over and found out. This helped us to decide against them as they were too expensive.
London Underground
This is one our train tickets for today. We got a travel card so that we were able to go anywhere in London but we only needed to go to one place but the option was there if we needed it.

Storyboards
These are my storyboards where we planned out as a group what shots we need to do and in what order. On the day however, we thought of other ideas that we could put into our music video and shortened some clips so that our new ideas could fit in. I also listed out how many seconds each clip would be filmed so that i knew that it would all fit in with the song. I also listed what camera angles i would be using so that on the day we would be prepared and didnt have to waste time on what we needed to film.

Location Ideas
Once we had decided what song we would be doing for our music video we needed to decide where would go to film for our music video. As a group we looked at other Beach Boys videos but the settings that they used were near enough all on the beach. To be slightly different to them, and once we had throghouly read through the lyrics we realised that we would be able to base it on a young couple. We brainstormed ideas together as a group and this is what we came up with
Paris
We thought about going to Paris for a day trip as this is romantic place for couples to go and would be easy for us to show a relationship as their are many sights. However this would be very costly for us as we would need to pay for flights there and back as none of us drive to be able to travel there on the Eurostar. Another reason we didnt choose Paris is because we would need to know where we were going to be able to get all of the filming done in a short space of time as we wouldnt be able to return.
Thorpe Park
Although this would be easy for us to access as we could get the train there we wouldnt be able to do much filming apart from queuing for rides and we didnt think this was the best way to show a couple. Again Thorpe Park is quite faraway from Harlow so this would mean we would need to be there for the opening and there till the closing of the park so that we get as much filming done as possible.
Regents Park - Bike Ride - Field
Depending on the weather will determine whether we go for a bike ride or not. When researching we saw that in the Park there is a bike hire so we would be able to go and hire the bikes after we had been around the zoo. However as a back up plan we decided that if we couldnt find the bike hire then we would go to the Barclays bike hire and rent the bikes through that as couples on a bike ride would be seen as 'cute' and 'romantic'. We also needed a field that we could film in, we had many options that we could use to do this but as we thought Regents Park would be good as the Park would be massive and we didnt want anyone in the background so we knew that we would be able to film without any interference of other people.
Pets Corner - Harlow
Although Pets Corner is easy for us to access and we would be able to return there whenever we needed to. However, Pets Corner looks slightly dated and is a lot smaller compared to the other zoo's that we have looked at, so we wouldnt be able to take a lot of clips if we decided to film there. Another reason that we didn't use Pets Corner to film was because there isn't a lot there and as we wanted different sceneries to film our clips in.
The Beach
As the song is called 'Wouldn't it be nice' by The Beach Boys we did consider doing some of our filming at a beach which would have to be Southend as that is the closest one to us and is the most accessible. But because we are going to be filming in the half term next week and its october the weather isn't really what we need for a beach scene. There isn't much we could do to film on a beach as we wouldnt be able to look like like it was summer in trunks and bikini's as it would be way too cold for this.
Boat trip
Although a boat trip would be nice to do we dont have a boat that we could use and dont know anyone who has one so this has proved impossible for us. If we asked to hire one we would need to find a driver who would be able to drive us all day until we had completed our filming and we would also need to pay the driver and for the hire of the boat and we don't have the kind of money to be able to do this.
London Zoo
Although we would need to travel to London for this, we found that London Zoo was one of the easiest locations that we could access as we could travel up on the trains early. Another reason we thought of London Zoo for one of our locations to film was because we had looked at prices of the tickets to get in the Zoo and they seemed reasonable as we would be in there the majority of the day filming. Another reason we thought London Zoo would be good for us would be because there are a lot of locations in the zoo that we would be able to use for different scenes of our music video.
After discussing the locations we decided that London Zoo and Regents Park would be best to show what we want in our music video. But on the day we will need to ensure that we get the job done as we won't be able to return if and when we want to.

Research on Genre
When researching about The Beach Boys we found out their genre is 'pop rock'. The group started creating their music during the early 60's and are also classed as a surf band, explaining the name The Beach Boys.
Pop rock is a mix of the conventions of popular music, light lyrical and catchy rhythms with a high concentraion of guitar usage simular to convential rock. Examples of modern Pop Rock bands include:
Maroon 5
Scouting for Girls
Before these bands there were bands like The Beach Boys and the Cranberries.

Deciding on our band
When deciding on what band we wanted to do, we knew that we wanted an all boy band so we listed boy bands that were more than 10 years old and also recent ones so that we could compare them. Underneath each artist we wrote down 3 of their songs.

Decision
This is Ricky Lawrence, myself and Maxwell Mbofana in media was taken by our teacher as we had just finalised that we would now be doing a music video.
The options were between:
A promotion package for the release of an album to include a music promo video together with:
- A cover for its release as part of a digipak (CD/DVD package)
- Promotional webpage on the artist
A promotion package for a new film to include a teaser trailer together with:
- A film magazine front cover, featuring the film
- A poster for the film .
As we decided to create a music video we were told that we were only able to have a song that was ten or more years older or a song that hadn't been released as a single. We struggled with this as there are too many songs that we could choose from and we also needed a song that we would be able to create a music video to that would be relative to the lyrics.
In order for our video to be successful we were briefed to complete this checklist:
Planning
Research
Digipak
Poster
Costume and Make-up
Props
Lighting
Time management
Space
Organisation
Good Lipsyncing
Large variety of shots
Good use of editing
Good blog
A interesting and believable performance
A interesting setting
