Todays lesson we looked at what we were going to perform as part of our lip syncing video. My group for this was the same and I stayed with Sam and Claire as we worked well together. We were undecisive on what songs to choose and came up with a variety that we thought would be easy for us to lip sync but we also needed to consider what song would be the easiest to do actions to as well.
The songs that we thought to use were:
- American Boy - Kanye West ft Estelle
- Spice Girls - 2 become 1
- Killers - Mr.Brightside
We decided on American Boy as it is a popular song so the three of us didn't have to completely learn a new song and as in the music video there is Kanye West we thought Sam could play him. The reason why we didnt choose to use the Spice Girls to lip sync is because only myself and Claire knew the song properly and Sam didnt want to sing a girl band song. This was the same when we looked at the Killers as its an all boy band so me and Claire wouldn't be able to sing it as we didnt think it would look right.

Editing The Phone Call
In this lesson we took our clips that we filmed on fridays media lesson and uploaded them on the iMac and began editing. We ordered the clips and then watched them through so that we knew if they were going to be usable or not. This also enabled us to edit and cut things out that didn't need to be there and adjust the sound if some areas were too quiet where the surrounding sounds had gone over the top. After editing our clips we needed to add in transitions so that our short film flowed easily and as there was a variety of transitions to choose from we were able to see what ones look best for our film.

The Phone Call
This lesson we have been put into groups and I am with Sam and Claire to do the filming task for 'The phone call'. Claire filmed Sam and I having a phone call. Each member of the group were given a task sheet which listed what shots we needed to when depending on scenaries using a shot list. We were given a basic task sheet that said what we needed to include and what shots we needed to use but we had to choose whether it was going to be a cheerful phonecall or serious.
This was our video of the phonecall:

This task meant that we were able to experiment with the video camera and gain camera skills which we can use next year. I found this task useful as i get to get used to the camera and helped me to get more familiar with the camera angles and shots. When filming we needed to check our surroundings in case it was going to be too noisy for what we was going to do.

Digital Driving Test
In this mornings lesson we were given a sheet called 'digital driving test' which explained and helped us to set up a tripod, use the camera, put down the tripod and put the clip we took onto the iMac and then upload our movie onto iMovie. Once we had put the clip onto the laptop we had to play the clip we had and then edit the faulty parts. Between each clip we were also expected to add in transitions so that our video flowed more, looked more professional and didn't jump from scene to scene. After the editing process was completed we then had to upload it to YouTube.
As none of our group had used the tripod or iMac before apart from Jack we learnt a lot and i know this will help me next year when editing my music video.
